Trend Spot: Bright Blooms

bright_blooms

With Spring in full swing we’ve had our eye on a hot trend: Bright Beautiful Blooms!!

We adore this look, especially when the weather warms up. Don’t be afraid of color! Be bold! And let us get to work.

This sweetheart table has the perfect balance of mixed metals, eclectic votives and a lush centerpiece. Eucalyptus green foliage filled, surrounded with a variety of dahlias, garden roses, and spray roses , organically shaped, topped off this urn perfectly.

Our recent Bride’s have taken this Spring look to the next level. With a fresh color palate, and rich, saturated blooms. We are literally eating up this trend.

Simplicity can make a huge impact, just look at this fabulous arch, adorned with coral peonies, blush garden roses and hanging amaranthus.

Bouquets are such a huge part of your  Big Day and this one deserved a standing ovation, it is absolutely gorgeous! Vibrant pinks popped against the ivory and blush. Such a fresh spring look!

We think incorporating color throughout adds so much fun to your space, and demands your guest’s attention. For this wedding we wanted lots of color with gold and cream accents. Sundrop Vintags Rentals has the most amazing collection of  vintage glass goblets, of course we needed to have every color! To keep things from being over whelming we had each table in the same color scheme. Giving the off the tropical modern vibe while staying cool.

Trust us, you want texture, you want variety and NEED color!

Estateon2nd-25

We loved how Melissa & David weren’t afraid to take color to the next level. Opting for whimsical bright colors for their carnival themed wedding. The bright dahlias, stock, pin cushions and roses against the ivory hydrangea really made things pop!

When choosing blooms for your big day, keep things bright, and full of texture with a neutral base. Giving you that bold look while not getting lost in all the pretties. We loved springing for bright colors, it truly makes an impact! So excited to see what the Summer will bring 😉

Boho Rehearsal Picnic

boho

We love a good styled shoot. Not only are we able to work with our fav vendors (shout out to our besties!), but were able to be super creative and help brides think outside of the box, ahem, restaurant in this case. Me being 8 and half months preggo and about to pop, I wanted to get one last shoot in with great vendors. Almost like a baby moon, but for the wedding obsessed.

La Jolla is know for it’s breath taking views & amazing weather. We wanted to take a break from ordinary and go for a rehearsal dinner OUTSIDE. Keeping things relaxed, laid back, and fun.Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Duo_Seven Stems 30

With floor seating, and mismatched table wear, our rehearsal picnic is what Boho Chic dreams are made of. All under the stars and market lights. Letting the party flow with some glow. SD Social Lights rocked this set up as usual. Thanks Boys!

Creating a look this effortless is easy when you get great rentals, like we did from Lauren Sharon Vintage Rentals. Add in some great decor, like lanterns, candlesticks, amber glass,  mixed metals and of course our favorite, perfect blooms! Our base colors were brown, tan, blus, and creams. Giving us the freedom to add pops of colors throughout without getting lost. This created a beautiful flow that we absolutely adore.

Mr. & Mrs. Wedding Duo_Seven Stems 54

Opting for floor seating meant taking our table to the next level. Plush comfy pillows surround our perfect tablescape. Mismatched place settings set upon lush greenery. Done & Done.

Candles, votives and blooms completed the bohemian vibe.

Eucalyptus and ferns, created a runner, accented with blooms, gave us the perfect balance.

Our girls at Petals & Stone provided all our models accessories. We cant get enough of her hair piece. Or our model, how gorgeous she!?

Our favorite part of the shoot was the photo backdrop. Part macrame dream catcher, part photo op, 100% RAD!

When talking parties, you can’t forgot the dessert. What’s a party without it? Our cake from Sweet Cheeks Baking Company, surely didn’t disappoint. With it’s square shape and adorable cactus detail, and macrame details, we were in love!

Mission Basilica

What’s more timeless than classic whites, blushes and navy? NOTHING! Now pair that with the breath taking backdrop of Mission San Juan Capistrano.  And you’ve literally found the perfect wedding!

You know when you see two people just SO in love you can just feel it? That’s Jeannie & Chris. Two people destined for love. Jeannie and I met over Chai for some good girl talk, oohing and ahhing over her beautiful custom ring, that stud muffin fiance of hers and wedding planning. Did I mention The Chair? It is my very favorite, I am serious, you need one. Make a day of it, swing by the local gem of a coffee shop, Hidden House Cafe.  Grab one and walk over and tour The Mission. You wont regret it! Ok, back to these love birds, Jeannie wanted an everlasting romantic feel with some added bling. We went with luscious blooms, peonies, garden roses, hydrangea and topped it off with some perfect white phalenopsis orchids. DREAM come true!

The Ceremony was full of tradition, beauty and history. Be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor, it’s ok, we wont judge you.

0027Jeannie_Chris_f

The traditional Catholic ceremony was full of meaning for the couple. But really, we can’t get over how gorgeous the chapel was!

0039Jeannie_Chris_f

The Mission is a breathe taker, not only for what it represents but the insainly beautiful backdrop it provides over time. I am serious when I say, The Mission is my favorite location. The images are always breathtaking.

0040Jeannie_Chris_f

I cant even handle what a picture perfect couple they are, he’s tall and handsome and she’s drop dead gorgeous!! Jeannie kept it simple with an ivory satin fit + flare dress with beaded details and Chris in his GQ, slim cut navy suit.

Seriously, how are they not on a cover of a magazine?

The dinner party was held at the one and only St. Regis. Keeping with their classic and traditional style, their decor was simply stunning! With blush blooms in clear glass and towering centerpieces, the tables were sparkling. Dozens of tea lights and candles set the romantic tone for the evening.

The blooms add just the right touch, to an already perfect cake. Sweet, romantic, and timeless. The details always set the tone.

When it’s everlasting love, ordinary just wont do. Romantic, dreamy, and just the right amount of luxe. Jeannie + Chris are a perfect 10.

We had a great time at the Spring Launch party and I hope you enjoyed looking through all our hard work!

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make our display the beautiful creation it was!

We couldn’t have done it without you!!

Angela and Tim

October was one crazy month for us. With the purple craze continuing, Angela’s wedding was a breath of fresh air. Don’t get us wrong, we love purple! But we also love a good challenge and here we were able to push our designs to the limit. Angela wanted a romantic feel, full of deep red and burgundy tones, Marisa and I were very excited! Franciscan Gardens in San Juan Capistrano was the perfect venue for this intimate wedding. One of our goals for the flowers is to not only exceed the brides vision, but to enhance the venue and we feel we paired them perfectly.

Hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Angela’s bouquet was BIG and BEAUTIFUL! It was full of black baccara roses, burgundy dahlias, black calla lilies, red and burgundy spray roses and burgundy cymbidium orchids. Her flower girl wore a flower crown made of red roses.

0199

Not that this gorgeous bride needed any, but her make up was done by the lovely and talented Melinda Ruiz of Beauty by Melina. If you are still looking for someone to touch you up on your special day, call her!

0311

The boys sported some cute little boutonnieres made of burgundy spray roses and dahlia buds.

How adorable are these little guys!?

0102

The mother’s wore wrist corsages using the themed blooms.

0043

Pictures were taken before the ceremony, at the beautiful Mission. This crew walked through downtown San Juan Capistrano, followed by a mariachi band. A wedding present from the father of the bride.

LOVED IT!!

0449

0442

With everything set in place, guests in their seats; this wedding was ready to begin! Love these barn style gates!

0495

What better way to say “Here comes the Bride”. SO CUTE!

0535

This picture was too sweet to not include, Angela’s father walking her down the aisle.

0553

For their “arch” something non traditional and very touching: a cross! Using theme flowers and curly willow, this cross was absolutely jaw dropping!

0465

Burgundy roses, red roses, red orchids, dahlias and burgundy cymbidiums were just a few of the flowers on this gorgeous cross. We added dark purple hydrangea and trachelium to stay away from adding to the red and pink tones.

0466

The cross was one weekend project we couldn’t wait to construct. It was towering with a height reaching 10ft tall and was stained just the right tone to pop against the flowers. Lets just say this is definitely one of our favorites!

0623

For the reception, rectangle tables where lined up to form a “U” shape around the dance floor. Spread throughout the tables were mercury glass urns filled with these gorgeous flowers.

0461

Keeping with the theme, smaller clusters of flowers were added in addition to the votives and floating candles.

0458

The sweetheart table was full of floating candles wrapped in burgundy petals.

0460

At sunset with all the floating candles in play, this space was STUNNING!

Congratulations Angela and Tim!

A special thanks to Joe Broccardo at Broccardo Photgraphy, Orange County Wedding Photos for capturing all these lovely images!

Kelsey and Josh

A young and very much in love couple from my church recently got married and Seven Stems was honored to be part of their joyous day. Kelsey was a DIY bride who was inspired by babies breath and hydrangea with accents of peach and coral. Crystal, of Crystal Nicole Photography, did a beautiful job capturing Kelsey and Josh’s special day. I hope you all enjoy!

Kelsey wanted a delicate floral crown of babies breath. She looked absolutely gorgeous!!

Her bridal bouquet was full of white hydrangea, peach stock, babies breath and a few succulents. Loved it!!

Her awesome bridesmaids had all different dresses in shades of coral and peach. Their bouquets where light and fluffy bunches of babies breath. Cute shot!

You don’t always have to have an elaborate bouquet for your bridesmaids. Simple and chic, SCORE!!!

For Josh’s boutonniere, we used peach spray roses and babies breath to match Kelsey’s bouquet.

As for the rest of the guys, babies breath boutonnieres it is. They look great!

The centerpieces were white hydrangea with babies breath. Two DIY candle holders were placed on either side to complete the setup.

And lastly, the cake. A classy look accompanied by a babies breath topper accented with peach spray roses.

Congratulations to the happy new couple!

All the best to you guys!

Kayla and Ronnie

One of my favorite weddings of 2013 was at The Villa in San Juan Capistrano for Kayla and Ronnie. They are the sweetest couple and just SO darn cute! Everything about their wedding was romantic, bright, warm and inviting! Tyler Branch, of Tyler Branch Photo, did an amazing job capturing every detail, so enjoy! 😉

The Villa  is such a unique venue with so many areas to place flowers to make your guest feel more at home. Here are a few of the lovely arrangements we had throughout some of the seating areas.

Kayla wanted a soft color pallet keeping in mind the sunset colors of Fall. So we used a lot of pastel colors with pops of orange and yellow. Some of the flowers used were; Stock, Larkspur, Kale, Anemones, Dahlias, Roses, Succulents and Lisianthus.

Silver dollar eucalyptus, bay leaf, and pepper tree were some of the greens we used that were in full bloom during this season. Flowers were added to these on site urns in the courtyard area. Simply stunning!

Kale has been pretty popular these days, and was a “must have” for this wedding. Yes, it is the “giant green vegetable looking thing” in this centerpiece. 😉

Kayla has such a bright and bubbly personality! So we thought having her bouquet full of all color would help to make her shine brighter!

Mission accomplished! It was a perfect match!

With her bouquet being full of color, her bridesmaids bouquets were all white and really popped against their coral dresses.

An added feature to their wedding, was a moss-covered “K” and “R” to welcome the guest’s! Love the grey suits for the guys!

The boutonnieres were cute and simple! Loved all the different ways we wrapped them!

Their arch. OMGOSH!!! It was so full and lush and I could go on talking forever and ever about it. By far, one of my favorites, of all times! And that says a lot, considering I’ve been doing flowers for over 10 years now!

Cheers to the happy couple!!

Their centerpieces consisted of hydrangea, kale, succulents, dahlias, roses, lisianthus, orchids and pepper tree.

The cake table was adorned with a couple of centerpieces and, of course, the toss bouquet. Simply jaw dropping! All of it!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this wedding a huge success! All the best to this lovely couple!
