Mission Basilica

What’s more timeless than classic whites, blushes and navy? NOTHING! Now pair that with the breath taking backdrop of Mission San Juan Capistrano.  And you’ve literally found the perfect wedding!

You know when you see two people just SO in love you can just feel it? That’s Jeannie & Chris. Two people destined for love. Jeannie and I met over Chai for some good girl talk, oohing and ahhing over her beautiful custom ring, that stud muffin fiance of hers and wedding planning. Did I mention The Chair? It is my very favorite, I am serious, you need one. Make a day of it, swing by the local gem of a coffee shop, Hidden House Cafe.  Grab one and walk over and tour The Mission. You wont regret it! Ok, back to these love birds, Jeannie wanted an everlasting romantic feel with some added bling. We went with luscious blooms, peonies, garden roses, hydrangea and topped it off with some perfect white phalenopsis orchids. DREAM come true!

The Ceremony was full of tradition, beauty and history. Be prepared to pick your jaw up off the floor, it’s ok, we wont judge you.

The traditional Catholic ceremony was full of meaning for the couple. But really, we can’t get over how gorgeous the chapel was!

The Mission is a breathe taker, not only for what it represents but the insainly beautiful backdrop it provides over time. I am serious when I say, The Mission is my favorite location. The images are always breathtaking.

I cant even handle what a picture perfect couple they are, he’s tall and handsome and she’s drop dead gorgeous!! Jeannie kept it simple with an ivory satin fit + flare dress with beaded details and Chris in his GQ, slim cut navy suit.

Seriously, how are they not on a cover of a magazine?

The dinner party was held at the one and only St. Regis. Keeping with their classic and traditional style, their decor was simply stunning! With blush blooms in clear glass and towering centerpieces, the tables were sparkling. Dozens of tea lights and candles set the romantic tone for the evening.

The blooms add just the right touch, to an already perfect cake. Sweet, romantic, and timeless. The details always set the tone.

When it’s everlasting love, ordinary just wont do. Romantic, dreamy, and just the right amount of luxe. Jeannie + Chris are a perfect 10.

Antique Love Photo Shoot!!

During the summer, we had the opportunity to put together a fabulous photo shoot with some wonderful professionals, Studio Carre’ photography and Cynthia Zatkins Events. Our theme was antique love and this is what we came up with. Our spread in San Diego Style Weddings Magazine wasn’t able to show all the lovely details that went into this, so here we are to re-examine them for your viewing pleasure, ENJOY!

Marisa and I knew we wanted something to create a more dramatic effect while still maintaining the romantic feel of the shoot. We came up with this structure built of birch branches, covered it with curly willow, passion vines, hanging crystals and pearls. We also found these fantastic hanging votives and filled them with our theme flowers.

It was all set and ready to shoot, until we all noticed this empty “hole” in the center of the hanging décor/votives. Michelle on site with no tools, minimal supplies “MacGyver’s” this little a bird nest, flower ball, gem. I think it might be my favorite part!

We used rope to tie the birch branches together and also used it to hang the structure from the tree. La Jolla Women’s Club let us use their location and if you haven’t been there, I highly recommend it. Their gardens are just beautiful!!

Peonies, garden roses, mint leaves, hydrangea, mokara orchids and budlia were just a few of the beauties we incorporated.

We used bud vases, mercury glass, a terrarium and antique candle holders to add to the theme. Each filled with something special! Lavender, succulents, curly willow the list goes on and on!

Our colors were melon and cornflower blue. Its hard to find blue flowers that will work with you, not against you. And thankfully, we found this gorgeous hyacinth! It was just the right touch to bind all the textures and colors together.

A Coastal Wedding

Earlier this year, we got the pleasure of working with a wonderful bride who envisioned a beach themed wedding. Her colors were ivory, tan, accents of teal and we incorporated sand and shells.  This wedding turned out gorgeous!

Her bridal bouquet was made up of garden roses, white lilies, calla lilies, spray roses, dahlias, mini cymbidium orchids and was wrapped in teal ribbon. Her bridesmaid bouquets were all simple and elegant fluffy dahlias.

I just loved her choice of dresses for her bridal party! They all looked stunning! The weather that day was incredible and their beach side pictures in Laguna Beach show it!

Nothing says “beach” more than sand and shells! Which were incorporated throughout the wedding. Check out the cocktail tables, simple and very budget friendly!

Another great display of the sand and shell centerpieces with a great DIY chalk board made by the bride created an inviting welcome table.

I love rectangle tables for weddings, and thought the layout turned out great!

Using a combination of vases filled with the brides favorite flowers and sand and shells, it definitely created the ultimate coastal wedding!

Look at these fluffy dahlias, I cant get enough of them!! Stunning!!

With teal accent throughout, in the ribbon on the vases and submerged crystals, the cake also had pops of the bright color. A unique starfish topper finished off the cake and completed this coastal wedding!

The Purple Craze Continues!

Not only were we excited to kick off Spring with purple, we were thrilled to be at one of our favorite venues, Los Willows in Fallbrook, Ca.

This gorgeous and GINORMOUS bridal bouquet had dahlias, French tulips, orchids, stock, hyacinth and just about every other spring flower that gives off a delightful aroma! It smelled incredible and looked fabulous!!

The bridesmaid bouquets where more neutral with more white and lavender tones with pops of bright purple. Using fresh lavender, stock and freesia, these beauties smelled amazing as well! Love the way the dusty miller leaves add that special antique touch to these bouquets!

For the groom and groomsmen boutonnieres we used lavender and white spray roses,  French lavender and dusty miller. Super cute and of course, smelled great! 😉

A purple pomander ball for the flower girl is a great alternative to the traditional flower basket with petals. It ties in to other parts of the wedding…. You’ll see.
Morgan & Jeremy_0162
Lining the aisle, were pomander balls in an ombre’ fashion. Starting with ivory and ending in a dark purple; it looked incredible! See! I told you, the flower girl would match another part of the wedding!

Two large pillars framed the lovely couple, each with a large arrangements placed on top. They were big, beautiful and reusable for the reception! Two birds, one stone!

And to finish off this purple wedding, the brides favorite flowers submerged for her centerpieces. Tulips! So simple, elegant and with floating candles, romantic!!

Purple Cray

Purple. Purple. PURPLE!!!

It seems that 2012 was all about the color purple and weddings all over were blowing  it up!

Here are a few of our favorites from last year.

This bride loved purple and let us incorporate shades of maroon and fuchsia to really add a great contrast with the purple Orchids and lavender roses. I absolutely LOVE all the purple orchids in this wedding!! A beautiful bouquet for a GORGEOUS bride!! 😉

Have I told you I love orchids? These purple mokara orchids were incredible! I want to scream with joy when I look at these boutonnieres!!

An elegant and eye-catching arrangement for the check in table. The purple hydrangea was insane! Love the dusty miller and curly willow.

For another purple wedding of ours, we got to incorporate the blue tones. Adding peacock feathers to the mix for that cherry on top effect!

The purple, which look like a bright blue, anemone’s are one of my favorites and really popped in these bouquets!

We incorporated maroon in this wedding. To help save on cost, because we all have a budget,  (and I probably shouldn’t be telling you, oops)  we substituted maroon carnations (Yeah, I said it. Carnations.) for a few dahlia’s and BOOM you still have a beautiful centerpiece and nobody knows, except you. So hush! Haha
